The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between the junction of the trunk road with Goudhurst Road (A262), north of Lamberhurst in the County of Kent and a point 145 metres southeast of its junction with The Down (B2169) south of Lamberhurst, and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA10/1/SWM/128, marked “The A21 Trunk Road (Lamberhurst Bypass Detrunking) Order 1996”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR.
