## LENGTHS OF HIGHWAYS BECOMING TRUNK ROAD

The lengths of the highways becoming trunk road are the A61 eastern and western roundabouts and the length of the A61, a distance of 212 metres, that connects these roundabouts at Junction 50 of the A1(M) Motorway (Baldersby Interchange), in the District of Harrogate in the County of North Yorkshire (as shown by the hatching on the Plan).

## Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)
The purpose of the Order is to authorise the Secretary of State to impose trunk road status on the lengths of highways described in the Schedule to this Order.
Two new roundabouts have been constructed on the A61 on either side of the A1(M) Motorway at Junction 50 (Baldersby Interchange), which together form a ‘dumbbell roundabout’ arrangement at this grade separated junction over the A1(M). In order to take responsibility for managing and maintaining the entire Baldersby Interchange, the Secretary of State will become the highway authority for the highways described in the Schedule to this Order.
