  "text": "(1) The Education Act 1996 (c. 56) is amended as follows.\n(2) In section 337A (interpretation of Chapter), omit the definition of “the appropriate national authority”.\n(3) In section 342 (approval of non-maintained special schools)—\n(a) in subsection (1)—\n(i) for “appropriate national authority” substitute “ Secretary of State ”, and\n(ii) after “school”, the first time it appears, insert “ in England ”;\n(b) in subsection (5)(a), for “appropriate national authority” substitute “ Secretary of State ”;\n(c) omit subsection (6).",
