Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Air Navigation (General) Regulations 1993. The principal changes are:
(1)
New notional passenger and crew weights are introduced for aeroplanes and helicopters of all sizes.
(2)
For aircraft with 30 or more passenger seats, there is an option to use “all adult” notional weights.
(3)
The notional weights differ from holiday charter to non-holiday charter flights.
(4)
Hand baggage is included within the new notional weights.
(5)
New notional hold baggage weights are introduced. Notional hold baggage weights are only available for aircraft with 20 or more passenger seats.
(6)
The co-ordinates defining Europe for the purpose of these Regulations have been amended.
