# The Air Quality Standards Regulations 1989, Regulation 1: Citation, commencement and application


(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Air Quality Standards Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 31st March 1989.
(2) Regulations 4 and 5 shall not apply to exposure to lead in the air as a result of a person’s occupation, and regulations 6 and 7 shall not apply in relation to exposure to nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere at work or within buildings.
