# Animals (Penalty Notices) Act 2022, Section 8: Interpretation

Extent: E+W

In this Act—
“enforcement authority”, for a relevant offence, has the meaning given by section 1(4);
“local authority” means—
(a) a district council or county council in England,
(b) a London borough council,
(c) the Common Council of the City of London, or
(d) the Council of the Isles of Scilly;
“relevant offence” has the meaning given by section 1(2).
