# The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act (Amendment to Schedule 2) Order 1998, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
Article 2 of this Order adds references to ferrets and gerbils and to pigs and sheep, if genetically modified, to the list of animals in Schedule 2 to the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. That Schedule lists animals which must be obtained from designated breeding or supplying establishments.
