Explanatory note

This Order, which does not extend to Northern Ireland, prescribes the fees payable by the holders of certificates under section 6 of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (scientific procedure establishments) and under section 7 of the Act (breeding and supplying establishments).

For scientific procedure establishments the fee is made up of £122 plus £110 for each personal licensee whose place of primary availability is the establishment in question.This represents an increase of £2 in respect of establishments and of £2 in respect of personal licensees.For a breeding and supplying establishment which is not also a scientific procedure establishment the fee is increased by £8 to £553.

The Order also revokes the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act (Fees) Order 1992, which it replaces.
