# The Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 1998, Paragraph 72


Mikkelsen Cairn on Tryne Islands, Vestfold Hills (Lat. 68°22'S, Long. 78°24'E). A rock cairn and flag mast erected by Captain Klarius Mikkelsen on 20th February 1935 marks the place where Caroline Mikkelsen, the first woman to set foot on East Antarctica, landed.
