PDFs: Printed copy https://openlegislation.uk/appropriation-no-3-northern-ireland-order-1987/pdf/nisi_19872204_en.pdf ## Introductory text NORTHERN IRELAND Made 18th December 1987 Coming into Operation 18th December 1987 At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 18th day of December 1987 Present, The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament: Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974 and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:— ## 1 Title and commencement This Order may be cited as the Appropriation (No. 3) (Northern Ireland) Order 1987 and shall come into operation forthwith. ## 2 Interpretation The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly. ## 3 Issue of sum out of the Consolidated Fund for year ending on 31st March 1988 The Department of Finance and Personnel may issue out of the Consolidated Fund and apply towards making good the supply granted to Her Majesty for the service of the year ending on 31st March 1988 the sum of eighteen million, four hundred and ninety-six thousand pounds. ## 4 Power for Department of Finance and Personnel to borrow (1) Subject to paragraph (2), the Department of Finance and Personnel may borrow on the credit of the aforesaid sum, any sum or sums not exceeding in the whole nine million pounds. (2) Any money so borrowed shall be repaid, with any interest due thereon, out of the Consolidated Fund at any date not later than 31st March 1988. ## 5 Appropriation of grant The sum granted by Article 3 out of the Consolidated Fund is appropriated for the service and purpose expressed in Schedule 1. ## 6 Repeal of spent enactments The enactments mentioned in Schedule 2 are hereby repealed to the extent specified in the third column of that Schedule. ## Signature G.
