# The Arbitration (Foreign Awards) Order 1987, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order specifies that the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Singapore are parties to the 1958 New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards. Arbitral awards made in States which are parties to the Convention are enforceable in the United Kingdom under the Arbitration Act 1975.
