  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nSection 340(1) of the Armed Forces Act 2006 prohibits aliens from serving in the regular forces or any of Her Majesty’s forces raised under the law of a British overseas territory. These Regulations lift that prohibition in the case of citizens or nationals of Nepal who serve in the Brigade of Gurkhas, or who after five years of such service transfer to serve in other units of the regular forces or the forces of a British overseas territory.",
