# The Banking Act 1987 (Exempt Transactions) Regulations 1997, Paragraph 2: INTRODUCTION


The Code is written to promote good practice in the taking of deposits by Participating Societies. Some types of deposits may have their own terms and conditions which will comply with the principles contained in this Code.
