# The Beef (Emergency Control) Order 1996, Article 1: Title, commencement and interpretation


(1) This Order may be cited as the Beef (Emergency Control) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 29th March 1996.
(2) In this Order “meat” means any part of an animal that is suitable for human consumption.
