  "text": "The seed shall meet the following minimum standards:\n(a)\nMinimum analytical purity (% by weight)\nMinimum germination (% by number of clusters or pellets)\nMaximum moisture content (% by weight)\n* Excluding where appropriate, granulated pesticides, pelleting substances or other solid additives.\n(i) Sugar beet:\nmonogerm seed\n97\n80\n15\nprecision seed\n97\n75\n15\nnatural seed of varieties with more than 85% diploids\n97\n73\n15\nnatural seed of varieties with 15% or more triploids and/or tetraploids\n97\n68\n15(ii) Fodder beet:\nmonogerm seed, precision seed and natural seed of varieties with more than 85% diploids\n97\n73\n15\nnatural seed of varieties with 15% or more triploids and/or tetraploids\n97\n68\n(b) The percentage by weight of seeds of other plants shall not exceed 0.3.\n(c) Additional minimum germination requirements—\nMinimum percentage of germinated clusters with a single seedling\nMaximum percentage of germinated clusters with 3 or more seedling\n(i) monogerm seed\n90\n5\n(ii) precision seeds of—\nSugar beet\n70\n5\nFodder beet\nwith more than 85% diploids\n58\n5\nwith 15% or more triploids and/or tetraploids\n63\n5\n(d) Additional requirements for monogerm and precision seed which is monogerm\nMaximum percentage by weight of inert matter\nBasic seed\n1.0\nCertified seed\n0.5\nIn the case of pelleted seed the sample shall be drawn from processed seed which has undergone partial decortication but has not yet been pelleted.",
