# The Borders Region (Electoral Arrangements) Order 1993, Introduction: Introductory text


LOCAL GOVERNMENT, SCOTLAND
Made 6th June 1993
Coming into force in accordance with Article 1(2)
Whereas under section 17(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973() the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland on 16th June 1992 submitted to the Secretary of State a report on a review together with its proposals for a change of the electoral arrangements for Borders Region;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 17(2) and 233 of the said Act and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
