# The Bovine Animals (Identification, Marking and Breeding Records) (Amendment) Order 1993, Note: Explanatory note

(This Note does not form part of the Order)
This Order amends the Bovine Animals (Identification, Marking and Breeding Records) Order 1990 so as to implement those parts of Council Directive 92/102/EEC on the identification and registration of animals (OJ No.L355, 5.12.92, p. 32) which were required to be implemented by 1 February 1993 (articles 3, 4, 5(2)(a) and 11).
The Order requires records to be kept of the birth or death of each bovine animal and the number of bovine animals kept in the holding (new article 9 and Schedule) and requires that the local Animal Health Office be notified of the name and address of the owner or occupier of a holding on which bovine animals are kept (new article 9A).
