# The Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Compensation Order 1996, Article 5: Revocation and saving

Extent: E+W+S

(1) Subject to paragraph (2) below, the Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Compensation Order 1994 and the Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Compensation (Amendment) Order 1996 are hereby revoked.
(2) The compensation payable for any bovine animal slaughtered before the commencement of this Order pursuant to the exercise by the Minister of his powers under section 32(1) of the Animal Health Act 1981 shall be calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Compensation Order 1994.
