# The Bowes Extension Light Railway Order 1994, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 3rd March 1994
Coming into force 4th March 1994
The Secretary of State for Transport, on the application of the Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council and The Bowes Railway Company Limited and in exercise of powers conferred by sections 3, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12 of the Light Railways Act 1896 and now vested in him and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Order:
