# The Broadcasting (Extension of Duration of IBA’s Function) Order 1987, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends section 2(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1981 by substituting, for 31st December 2001, 31st December 2005 as the date up to which the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has the function of providing television and local sound broadcasting services.
