This Order extends to the Bailiwick of Jersey section 94 of the Broadcasting Act 1996, which relates to the renewal of licences to provide local radio services, and amends the Broadcasting Act 1990 (Jersey) (No. 2) Order 1991 (S.I. 1991/1710), which extends the Broadcasting Act 1990, with modifications, to Jersey.

The effect of the Order is to extend to Jersey, with modifications, the new section 104B (but not the new section 104A) inserted in the 1990 Act by section 94 of the 1996 Act and to amend section 104B of the 1990 Act as it extends to Jersey.
