The Order provides that it is not an offence under section 13(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1990 for BBC World Service Television Limited (or any other company controlled by the British Broadcasting Corporation) and European Channel Broadcasting Limited to provide the television news and information service known as “BBC World” and for the latter to provide the television entertainment service known as “BBC Prime” without in either case being authorised to do so by or under a licence under Part I of the Broadcasting Act 1990.
