Paragraph 1

The Building Regulations 1985 shall be amended as follows—

(1)

Regulation 1(2) (application) shall be omitted.

(2)

In regulation 12 (particulars and plans where a building notice is given) at the beginning of paragraph (2)(c)(i) there shall be inserted the words “if Part H (drainage and waste disposal) of Schedule 1 applies,”.

(3)

In regulation 14 (notice of commencement and completion of certain stages of work)—

(a)

at the beginning of paragraph (1) there shall be inserted the words “Subject to paragraph (1A),”;

(b)

immediately before paragraph (2) there shall be inserted the following paragraph—

“(1A)

Paragraphs (1)(c) and (d) do not apply in inner London.”.

(4)

In regulation 15 (testing of drains and private sewers) for the words “The Local authority” there shall be substituted the words “A local authority outside inner London”.

(5)

In regulation 20 (transitional provisions) after paragraph (2) there shall be inserted the following paragraph—

“(3)

This regulation does not apply in inner London.”.

(6)

In Schedule 1 (requirements) there shall be inserted in the third column (limits on application)—

(a)

opposite paragraph G4 (sanitary conveniences) the words “This requirement does not apply in inner London.”;

(b)

in Part H (drainage and waste disposal) the words “The requirements of this Part do not apply in inner London.”.
