# The Building Safety (Regulator’s Charges) Regulations 2023, Regulation 2: Interpretation


In these Regulations—
“the 1984 Act” means the Building Act 1984;
“the 2022 Act” means the Building Safety Act 2022;
“chargeable function” means a function set out in regulation 3(2);
“charging scheme” means a scheme in which the regulator sets out the charges to be recovered for or in connection with the performance of the chargeable functions;
“the HRB Regulations” means the Building (Higher-Risk Buildings Procedures) (England) Regulations 2023.
