  "heading": "Consequential amendments: electronic appointment of proxies",
  "text": "(1) The 1986 Act is amended as follows.\n(2) In section 60 (directors: election and retirement), in paragraph (c) of the definition of “voting date” in subsection (17) for “instruments appointing” substitute “appointments of”.\n(3) In Schedule 2, in–\n(a) sub-paragraph (1) of paragraph 21 (length of notice for calling meetings);\n(b) sub-paragraph (2A) of paragraph 22 (persons entitled to notice of meetings);\n(c) sub-paragraph (6)(c) of paragraph 23 (members' entitlement to vote on resolutions); and\n(d) sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph 24 (proxies),\nfor “instruments appointing” substitute “appointments of”.\n(4) In that Schedule, in sub-paragraph (6) of paragraph 24, for “the instrument appointing a proxy, or any other” substitute “the appointment of a proxy, or any”.\n(5) In that Schedule, in sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph 25 (right to demand a poll) for “The instrument appointing” substitute “Any appointment of”.\n(6) In that Schedule, in paragraph 34 (declarations to be made in proxy and ballot forms)—\n(a) in sub-paragraph (1), omit “instrument of”; and\n(b) in sub-paragraph (3), for “or as an instrument for the” substitute “and every”.",
