# The Building Societies (Financial Assistance) Order 2008 (revoked), Introduction: Introductory text


Building Societies
Made 4th June 2008
Coming into force 5th June 2008
This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 11, 12(1) and (2) and 13(2) of the Banking (Special Provisions) Act 2008.
A draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament in accordance with section 13(3) of that Act and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
Accordingly, the Treasury make the following Order:
