# The Building Societies (Residential Use) Order 1987, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 15th September 1987
Laid before Parliament 30th September 1987
Coming into force 1st April 1988
The Building Societies Commission, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 12(1) and (2) of the Building Societies Act 1986 and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf hereby makes the following Order:
