# The Building Standards (Scotland) Regulations 1990, Regulation 24: Drainage and sanitary facilities


(1) A building shall be provided with a drainage system sufficient to ensure hygienic disposal of discharges from the building.
(2) In this regulation “discharges” includes effluents, used water and the run-off of rainwater from roofs and other exposed surfaces of the building.
