  "heading": "Maximum periods of accommodation in a care home which may be secured by means of a direct payment",
  "text": "(1) A local authority may not make a direct payment for the provision of accommodation in a care home for an adult for a period of more than 4 consecutive weeks in any 12 month period, unless the local authority is one that is mentioned in Schedule 2.\n(2) In calculating the period of 4 weeks mentioned in paragraph (1), a period of accommodation in a care home of less than 4 weeks shall be added to any succeeding period in such accommodation where the two periods are separated by a period of less than 4 weeks but not otherwise.",
