# The Care Quality Commission (Additional Functions) (Amendment) Regulations 2023, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 28th November 2023
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 59(1) and 161(3) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
In accordance with section 59(2) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted NHS England before making these Regulations.
