# The Care Quality Commission (Additional Functions) (Amendment) Regulations 2026, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 8th September 2026
Coming into force 4th November 2026
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59(1) and 161(3) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
In accordance with section 59(2) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted NHS England before making these Regulations.
