# The Cattle Identification Regulations 2007, Paragraph 2: Method of registration

Extent: E+W+S+NI+i

(1) An application to register an animal must be made to the Secretary of State.
(2) Registration is by means of an application for a passport.
(3) The application must be made—
(a) using the Secretary of State’s interactive website;
(aa) using the Secretary of State’s automated telephony service;
(b) using software approved by the Secretary of State; or
(c) in writing, using the application form provided by the Secretary of State,
and must provide all the required information.
