# The Central Electricity Generating Board (Dissolution) Order 2001, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 18th October 2001
Coming into force 9th November 2001
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 84(4) of the Electricity Act 1989, after consultation with the Central Electricity Generating Board (“the CEGB”) and its successor companies and being satisfied that nothing further remains to be done by the CEGB (whether under Schedule 17 to that Act or otherwise), hereby makes the following Order:
