"text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the Charges for Residues Surveillance Regulations 2006.\nThe Charges for Residues Surveillance Regulations 2006 give effect (except for honey) to Article 27, as read with Annex IV, section A, of Regulation (EC) No. 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on official controls performed to ensure the verification of compliance with feed and food law, animal health and animal welfare rules (OJ No L165, 30.4.2004, p1, as corrected by the corrigendum in OJ No L191, 28.5.2004, p1).\nThese Regulations replace the definition of fish (regulation 2(2)). The effect of this is to allow charges to be made for surveillance of residues on all farmed fish, not just salmon and trout.\nThe effect of the amendments made by regulation 2(3) and the Schedule is to vary the level of fees charged under the Charges for Residues Surveillance Regulations 2006 for the Secretary of State’s surveillance of animals and animal products for residues of veterinary medicinal products and other substances.\nChanges to fees (by comparison with the Charges for Residues Surveillance Regulations 2006, as amended by the Charges for Residues Surveillance (Amendment) Regulations 2007) ranging from a decrease of 10% to an increase of 27.5% are itemised in the table below.\nType of creature or animal product and basis of charge\nPrevious charge (£)\nReplacement charge (£)\nChange (%)\nBovine}\nGoat}\nSheep}\nSoliped}\nSwine}\nper carcase\n0.4744\n0.0603\n0.0603\n0.3333\n0.0636\n0.4981\n0.0603\n0.0603\n0.345\n0.0572\n5\n0\n0\n5\n-10\nGame and wild game}\nPoultry}\nper tonne\n1.0461\n0.6379\n1.0461\n0.6538\n0\n2.5\nEggs\nMilk\nFish, other than salmon and trout\nSalmon\nTrout: brown and rainbow\nper 360\nper 1000 litres\nper tonne of marketed product\nper tonne of marketed product\nper tonne of fish food\n0.0168\n0.0266\n—\n2.0449\n1.7303\n0.0214\n0.0279\n2.096\n2.096\n1.7736\n27.5\n5\nn/a\n2.5\n2.5\nAn impact assessment of the effect of this instrument on the costs of business has been placed in the Library of each House of Parliament.
