# The Child Abduction (Northern Ireland) Order 1985, Article 7: Consequential amendments and repeals


(1) At the end of paragraph 1(b) of the Schedule to the 1952 c. 67 Visiting Forces Act 1952 (definition of “offence against the person”), there shall be inserted, appropriately numbered—
“(0) the Child Abduction (Northern Ireland) Order 1985.”
(2) In Schedule 1 to the 1968 c. 34 (N.I.) Children and Young Persons Act (Northern Ireland) 1968—
(a) for the words “55 or 56” there shall be substituted the words “ or 55 ”; and
(b) at the end there shall be added—
“Any offence under the Child Abduction (Northern Ireland) Order 1985”

(4) The following provisions are hereby repealed—
(a) section 56 of the 1861 c. 100 Offences against the Person Act 1861;
