# The Child Benefit (General) (Amendment) Regulations 2017, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st June 2017
The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 142(2)(b), and 175(1) and (3) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992 and sections 138(2)(b), 143(1) and 171(1) and (3) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992, and now exercisable by them, make the following Regulations.
