# Child Care Act 1980 (repealed 14.10.1991), Section 17: Children to whom Part III applies.

Except where the contrary intention appears, any reference in this Part of this Act to a child who is or was in the care of a local authority is a reference to a child who is or was in the care of the authority under section 2 of this Act or by virtue of a care order or a warrant under section 23(1) of the Children and Young Persons Act 1969 (which relates to remands to the care of local authorities).
