In particular provision is made for the time within which an application or appeal must be made (regulations 2 and 6), the contents of the notice of application or appeal (regulations 3 and 5), for enabling a Child Support Commissioner to give directions as to who are to be respondents to the application or appeal and enabling the Secretary of State to apply to intervene in proceedings.

Part III contains general procedural provisions about oral hearings, postponements and adjournments, withdrawal of applications and appeals and irregularities in proceedings. Part IV makes provision about determinations and decisions of Child Support Commissioners and confers power to correct or set aside decisions in certain circumstances. Part V contains miscellaneous and supplementary provisions.
