# The Civil Courts (Amendment) Order 2000, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Civil Courts Order 1983 so as to:—
(a) close the county court at Lichfield, with effect from 3rd July 2000; and
(b) close the district registry and county court at Workington, with effect from 2nd January 2001, and
(i) open a district registry at Whitehaven; and
(ii) confer bankruptcy jurisdiction on Whitehaven County Court.
