  "heading": "Short title, extent and commencement.",
  "text": "(1) This Act may be cited as the Civil Evidence Act 1972.\n(2) This Act shall not extend to Scotland or Northern Ireland.\n(3) This Act, except sections . . . 4(2) to (5), shall come into force on 1st January 1973, and sections . . . 4(2) to (5) shall come into force on such day as the Lord Chancellor may by order made by statutory instrument appoint; and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or for the same purposes in relation to different courts or proceedings or otherwise in relation to different circumstances.",
