  "text": "(1) Amend section 36 (bereavement payment) as follows.\n(2) In subsection (1), after “spouse” (in each place) insert “ or civil partner ”.\n(3) For subsection (2) substitute—\n“(2) A bereavement payment shall not be payable to a person if—\n(a) that person and a person of the opposite sex to whom that person was not married were living together as husband and wife at the time of the spouse’s or civil partner’s death, or\n(b) that person and a person of the same sex who was not his or her civil partner were living together as if they were civil partners at the time of the spouse’s or civil partner’s death.”",
