(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations provide, in relation to England only, for an increase of fees prescribed in the Commons Registration (General) Regulations 1966 (and previously increased by S.I. 1980/1195 and S.I. 1989/2167) for searches of the registers of common land and town or village greens. They also amend Form 21, which must be used to apply for searches of the registers.

A Regulatory Impact Assessment in respect of these Regulations has been produced and a copy placed in the Library of both Houses of Parliament. Copies may be obtained from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Common Land Branch, Zone 1/05 Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6EB, by telephone (0117 372 8875), by e-mail ([email protected]), or by visiting the Department’s website (www.defra.gov.uk).
