Regulation 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

These Regulations may be cited as the Community Care (Direct Payments) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997.

In these Regulations—

• “the Act” means the Community Care (Direct Payments) Act 1996;

• “the 1983 Act” means the Mental Health Act 1983^f1; and

• “the 1984 Act” means the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 1984^f2.
