Section 30 (places, dates and times of sittings) is amended as follows.

In subsection (1) after “Lord Chancellor may” insert “ , after consulting the Lord Chief Justice, ”.

(3)

In subsection (7) after “Lord Chancellor may” insert “ , after consulting the Lord Chief Justice, ”.

(4)

After subsection (8) insert—

“(9)

The Lord Chief Justice may nominate a judicial office holder (as defined in section 109(4) of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005) to exercise his functions under subsection (1) or (7).”
