1980 c. 23. Subsections (4A) and (4B) were inserted by section 36 of the Identity Cards Act 2006 (c. 15) and continue to have effect by virtue of section 1(3) of the Identity Documents Act 2010 (c. 40) subject to the consequential amendment made by paragraph 2 of the Schedule to that Act.
