# The Consumer Scotland (Designated Regulators) Regulations 2021, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations specify who is a “designated regulator” for the purposes of section 9 of the Consumer Scotland Act 2020 (asp 11) (“the Act”). Consumer Scotland may issue a notice requiring designated regulators to provide information to Consumer Scotland.
Regulation 2 specifies the Drinking Water Quality Regulator for Scotland and the Water Industry Commission for Scotland as designated regulators for the purposes of section 9 of the Act.
