Article 3 Contracting out of functions

Any or all of the relevant functions may be exercised by, or by employees of, such person as may be authorised in that behalf by the Lord Chancellor.

In relation to any contracted-out function, the expression “the appropriate officer” in section 2 of the Act shall be construed as if it referred to such employee of the authorised contractor as may be designated for the purpose of that function by the authorised contractor.
