# The Contracting Out (Local Education Authority Functions) (England) (Amendment) Order 2003, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Contracting Out (Local Education Authority Functions) (England) Order 2002. That order “the 2002 Order” enabled local education authorities to authorise other persons to exercise certain specified statutory functions of the authority on its behalf. The statutory functions which the authority could delegate in this way are specified in the Schedules to the 2002 Order. This Order amends the 2002 Order so that it now covers three new statutory functions of local education authorities which were created or amended by the Education Act 2002.
