  "text": "(This note is not part of the Order)\nThis Order amends the Copyright (Application to Other Countries) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/1751) (“the Principal Order”). The Principal Order applies or continues to apply the provisions of Part 1 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 to works of different types originating in the countries specified in the Schedules to the Principal Order with the effect that those works receive or continue to receive copyright protection in the United Kingdom.\nIn particular this Order amends the Schedules to the Principal Order to take into account the accession of:\n(a) Armenia, Jordan, Oman, Sudan, Tajikistan and Tonga to the Berne Copyright Convention (Cmnd. 5002);\n(b) Albania, Armenia, Croatia, Dominica, Estonia, Israel, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Nicaragua and Ukraine to the Rome Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organisations (Cmnd. 2425); and\n(c) China, Estonia, Georgia, Jordan, Oman and Taiwan to the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organisation (Cmnd. 2556–59, 2561–69, 2571–74) including the Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights.\nMinor modifications are also made to correct references to certain countries listed in Schedules 1 and 3 of the Principal Order.",
