# Coroners and Justice Act 2009, Section 57: Infanticide (England and Wales)


(1) Section 1 of the Infanticide Act 1938 (c. 36) (offence of infanticide) is amended as follows.
(2) In subsection (1)—
(a) for “notwithstanding that” substitute “ if ”, and
(b) after “murder” insert “ or manslaughter ”.
(3) In subsection (2)—
(a) for “notwithstanding that” substitute “ if ”, and
(b) after “murder” insert “ or manslaughter ”.
